POSTCONGRESS TOURS
DUBROVNIK – ISLAND OF KORČULA via PELJEŠAC PENINSULA
18 – 20 September 2011

DAY 1
Morning departure to Korcula. On the way to Korcula we will pay a visit to two well known wine producers of the region. The Peljesac Peninsula has been known for centuries for its excellent wines. During the visit to the cellars a pleasant wine tasting will be organized to discover why Croats refer to Peljesac as the Croatian Tuscany. Arrival to Korcula. Overnight hotel in Korcula.
DAY2
Free morning to explore the Korcula old town, the hometown of famous explorer Marco Polo.
Island of Korcula is one of the greenest islands in the Adriatic sea. It is also one of the most popular travel destinations in this part of Croatia. Like most of the Croatian islands, the Greeks, who gave it the name Korkyra Melaina or 'Black Corfu' for its dark and densely wooded appearance, first settled Korcula. The island itself is rich in art and culture, as well as beautiful nature such as numerous tiny and secluded beaches and bays, small and uninhabited islands and breathtaking views. The main town on the island is also named Korcula. Korcula town is a typical medieval walled Dalmatian city, with its round defensive towers and cluster of red-roofed houses.
Overnight hotel in Korcula.
DAY3
Breakfast at the hotel and free morning in Korcula. Early afternoon departure from Korcula to Dubrovnik.
Rate per person, based on 15 paying pax: 190,00 EUR including accommodation (in double rooms), transfer, guide, wine tasting.
Single room upgrade: additional 30,00 EUR per person per night
ELAPHITI ISLAND TOUR
18 – 20 September 2011
DAY 1
Morning departure with regular boat line to Island of Lopud. The village of Lopud lies on northwest side and has a view of Šipan. The two hills are connected by a beautiful valley where a footpath goes through to the bay called Šunj on the other side of the island. Šunj-bay is famous for its famous beach. The bay is almost round with a narrow entrance, totally filled with white sand and gets deeper only very slowly. It is possible to get something to eat as well as cold drinks on this side of the island and there are also sun beds and beach umbrellas for hire. Overnight hotel on the Island of Lopud.
DAY 2
After breakfast at the hotel, departure towards Šipan Island. Spread across the island are about thirty scattered churches, which already had been built in the middle-ages, a lot of them however have collapsed into ruins. In Suđurađ, directly in front of the harbour, lies the renaissance fortress of the family Stjepović-Skočibuha, of which its building had started in 1529. Other special buildings are the tower of Pakljena from 1563 and in Suđurađ the “Holy Ghost church” with a flat roof, which has the largest cover in this way on the Adriatic coast. Late afternoon return to Lopud. Overnight hotel on the Island of Lopud.
DAY3
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning at leisure. Afternoon return to Dubrovnik.
Rate per person, based on 15 paying pax: 120,00 €, including ferry transfer, accommodation, guide.
Single room upgrade: additional 30,00 EUR per person per night
